About the App
The GREENGAGE App is the official mobile front-end for the EU project GREENGAGE's Citizen Observatories. It enables citizen observers to conduct measurements, report observations, and participate in data collection activities within designated observatories.
The app is configured and managed through the GREENGAGE Console backend system at console.greengage.dev.

Welcome Screen
The welcome screen introduces the GREENGAGE mission: strengthening urban governance through citizen-based co-creation and crowdsourcing. Tap "Get Started" to begin the onboarding process.
Login & Registration
Secure authentication with multiple options:
- Email & Password - Create a dedicated GREENGAGE account
- Apple Sign-In - Quick login with your Apple ID (iOS)
- Google Sign-In - Quick login with your Google account
- Registration - Create a new account in seconds
Multi-language support allows switching between English and German.
Interactive Map
The main map interface displays your current Citizen Observatory with:
- POIs (Points of Interest) - Predefined locations with tasks
- Spots - User-contributed observations
- Your Location - Real-time GPS positioning
- Quick Actions:
- "Add Spot" - Report a new observation
- "Track me" - Start mobility tracking
Theme Filtering
Filter map content by themes defined by your observatory:
- TRAFFIC - Traffic and mobility observations
- CLIMATE - Environmental and climate data
- Custom Themes - Any theme your observatory needs
Themes are fully customizable. Each Observatory can freely define its own themes through the GREENGAGE Console. This allows tailoring the app experience to your specific citizen science project needs.
Task Details & Surveys
Tasks provide clear instructions for participation:
- Step-by-step guidance
- Check-in functionality at locations
- Integrated surveys with various question types
- Point rewards for completion
Survey types include:
- Multiple choice questions
- Yes/No questions
- Rating scales
- Free text input
Add Spot
Citizens can report observations by:
- Selecting a theme category
- Adding a title for the observation
- Writing a description
- Uploading a photo for documentation
Spots are immediately visible to other users and administrators.

Manage your account:
- View and edit profile information
- Switch Observatories - Participate in multiple citizen science projects
- Change language settings
- Sign out or restart onboarding
- View app version (current: v2.2.1)
